The Volkswagen Touareg was all-new for 2011 and essentially unchanged for 2012. The VR6 is the most fun to drive. The TDI Clean Diesel may be the most sensible. The Hybrid gives Germany's largest carmaker an entry into the hybrid market, what some observers see as the bridge to a future populated with a variety of powerplants running on various alternative fuels. But it's more than that, as it's also just as drivable and as capable as the two non-hybrid Touaregs, ready and willing to go anywhere, and if desired, as fast as, they can.
