Toyota Avalon Safety and Security

The Avalon is equipped with safety features such as antilock brakes (ABS), front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, a driver-side knee airbag, traction and stability control, and an anti-theft system.

In addition to these standard safety features, the Toyota Avalon has an override for the gas pedal when brakes are pressed. This feature will sense when the Avalon's gas and brake pedals are being pressed simultaneously, and a computer tells the engine to disregard the gas pedal.
