Toyota Prius Plug-In

As Toyota celebrates the Prius 10th Anniversary, they continue innovation in hybrid and electric vehicle technology. An exciting new development in the Prius line is the introduction of the Prius Plug-in, expected to arrive to Performance Toyota showrooms in 2012. Based on the third generation Prius model, the Prius Plug-in combines the Hybrid Synergy Drive with a small, light-weight lithium-ion battery which will extend the Prius' fully electric driving range. The Prius Plug-in will be able to drive up to 13 miles on only its electric charge. Then, to eliminate any worry about drive range, the Plug-in will switch to 50 mpg hybrid driving. The vehicle will charge in a standard 110V outlet and will take only three hours to reach a full charge.
